Rossi Hotel & Spa
It was a fantastic time in St Petersburg (first time visit) and your hotel and staff were wonderful. Fantastic room and brilliant staff. The executive suite had an amazing view out over the river. Starting with our driver who collected us at St Petersburg airport the staff at the hotel were very helpful all of the time. They arranged cars to the Meriinsky theatre and back and also our return to the airport to come home where we discovered that Roman, our driver was very courteous, and helpful and spoke brilliant English. Better than our Russian. Also, Maria and Mikhail on reception - wonderful people. Very professional. And also a huge special thank you to Daria, the Reservations Manager who could not have gone more out of her way to arrange everything.
The only thing we had to complain about was that we didn't want to come home, we didn't want our time there to end, Which means we would not have changed anything.
I must mention the Fiolet Restaurant. Fantastic!!. Your chef(s) deserves a medal as do the waiters and waitresses. The food,(the choice) the service was superb, the buffet breakfast amazing. All the staff work very hard.
We got back from the ballet at midnight on our final night and the restaurant still cooked us a wonderful meal.
Professional, clean, affordable and a great location. Perfect choice for a great special Birthday long weekend.

Worth the upgraded room and spa was well maintained.
We only had one night at the Rossi Boutique Hotel and SPA and chose the luxury suite. The arrival reception staff were very friendly and helpful, but once they left it became rather more sullen. The room was very spacious and worth the upgrade - good value in fact and the bathroom was also spacious with a big shower which makes a change in so many European hotels. Heated floors would be appreciated as winter gets colder. Whilst there was a kettle and coffee there was no sugar or milk, so that was a bit pointless, also no complimentary water available - which in many places is standard. We were told on arrival that with the suite we had a complimentary spa treatment however, that was fairly useless since we were only there for one day and they had no bookings available. Would have been good service if they had informed us of that prior to arrival to allow the chance to book. I suppose would have been okay if you were staying longer. One of the reasons we chose the hotel was for the pool and spa area. Whilst it was nice - sauna, hamman, small pool and relaxation area - guests could only use it from opening until 9/9:30am - was very limiting and would have been appreciated especially in the evening after a long day walking. No complaints on the room though (mind you some of the blinds were broken and didn't seem to be able to open the window for fresh air) and we slept well. Breakfast was below par - seemed to be in all hotels in St Petersburg, but didn't see the point of paying for cappuccino when everything else was free. Selection was average and mouldy bread was not a highlight. When I told the waitress she took it away but offered no real apology - was put off food by then. Only other point was an odd smell as you entered the hotel that was offpointing but it did look nice and disappeared after the entrance. Would I stay here again... maybe - the room was good and for the size not such bad value but the finer points were missed for a hotel that calls itself 4 star - could improve.

Almost perfect
The good first. We received wonderful service before we arrived. Staff promptly arranged our invitation and answered all our questions. The location was perfect--close to the cathedrals, the Hermitage and canal stops. The room was immaculate and the restaurant was quite good. So what's not to like? It is not as advertised a luxury hotel--we paid for a deluxe room, but it didn't look anything like the photos. The hallways were very dark, the rugs were worn, towels were thin and only one person and staff, which had been so grand were less helpful than we would have liked.

I want to stress that I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again. It's the advertisement I would change, not the hotel.
