|What is a boutique hotel?
Boutique hotel is usually a small design hotel with its individual style and atmosphere, and a personalized approach to every guest. The main difference between a boutique hotel and traditional chain hotels lies in the balance between luxury and comfort, classy interiors and a cozy homelike atmosphere. That is why at the Rossi, you are going to feel surrounded by comfort and warmth.
First boutique hotels appeared at the beginning of the 1980s. In 1981 Annushka Hempel, a former actress and currently a famous designer, opened The Blakes Hotel in South Kensington, London. That same year, The Clarion Bedford Hotel was opened on Union Square in San Francisco; later it became part of Kempton Hotels & Restaurants.
In 1984, Ian Schrager, the designer and hotelier, bought Executive hotel on Madison Avenue in New York and after careful renovation opened Morgan’s boutique hotel. Since that time the term “boutique hotel” has been in wide use. Ian Schrager has defined the concept of the boutique hotel as "a home far away from home".
Boutique hotels have been gaining world-wide popularuty as an excellent alternative for those who are tired of standard chain hotel rooms.
